In Asian culture too a lot of the time it doesn’t matter how successful you are you live with your parents until your married and when they’re older they move in with you so you can help them out. I do plan to move out even tho I won’t be married and will most likely live alone but I want to live close by and I’m not going to as soon as I get a stable job. I like my mom and like spending time with her.

The issue with shorts/tiktok is that these people who don't know how the internet works get stuff recommended to them and take it extremely personally. This is why there's so many condescending comments and folks with main character syndrome, they cannot comprehend that something is not meant for them.

If you have a good relationship with your parents why not live together till you're at a point where being on your own won't be a struggle?
I moved out ASAP because of family relationships and it's hard AF! I definitely would have preferred to get steady on my feet first before getting thrust into independence 😅 I don't see why people shouldn't take that option if they have it available to them

What Americans tend to not understand about how several cultures in East and West view families and businesses:
In most parts of Asia and the more traditional sides of Europe, it's SO NORMAL to have or grow multigenerational businesses. Your parents can have a home, a farm, a restaurant or even a small company and you're low-key expected to inherit it. You can also start up your own business, but your success is also seen by your parents as their success, likewise their connections and reputation is also seen as sorta yours, too. That's why it's not weird for parents and relatives to lend support to your business, or you to theirs. It's just all about having a "multigenerational Empire-building" kind of mindset *no matter how big or small the scale is.

What is with this stigma of "you need to be independent from your parents" like it used to be you stayed with your family until you got married and moved out to your own home. Now everyone's in a complete rush to be fully independent and get their own apartment and whatever. Like, chill y'all! You don't know their family situation so don't pretend like you do!
