You absolutely should take ACPR rounds with you. Even if you only take 5 for heavier tanks or long distances, they have good use if you can aim.

I typically carry 5 APCR for taking out gunners/ breaches.

Apcr may be mostly crap. But packing a few of them on anything that can face the tiger 2 without more than 185mm pen. It allows you to take out the gunner from the front in a pinch

Apcr is good on some tanks like T26E5 because you can actually pen the turret cheek of the tiger ii and kill it in one shot every now and then

Apcr, aka the “hole puncher” is good if you know what to hit.

Beware of automatic jettison in lower tiers as it offsets the weight of the already wobbly prop planes if you don't empty both sides

imo APCR should just be removed from the game totally. It's not modeled correctly. In reality, APCR was used to disable enemy vehicles when penetration was a must - especially when dealing with heavy tanks that couldn't be penned by APHE/HEAT rounds. It would pen, put a hole in the engine that couldn't be repaired and the crew would be forced to abandon the tank. in WT, you just hold R to repair you tank and go about your business.
