This has been one of the coolest journeys recorded in YouTube history, in my opinion. I love you, Tom. Keep being awesome

My grandfather was a physicist by profession, but in his retirement, spent most of his time designing, building and piloting model planes. Most of his were ICE or battery-electric powered, but he also had a pretty big glider which was completely passive. It was merely controlled with its rudders (is that what they're called?). If he threw it off the big hills near where we lived, he could fly it over to some thermals (indicated by circling birds) and keep it in the air for an hour or so. This video just brought back so many memories I have with him in his workshop and out in fields. I love your design. If I had enough technical know-how, I'd love to make one myself.

I wish 3d printers were a thing when I was a kid because my grandad would have had one and made cool stuff like this

Might want some springy landing sleds made of very thin spring steel rod/ thick wire?

I loved my Airhog, and have always been intrigued by the airpiston design. The key to not losing it was to always have it turning 1 way.

Those planes were the first time I felt muscle pain as a kid. I threw that bad boy into the sky at my uncles farm all day and my shoulder ached all night.

So turn it into a glider once the air runs out. Then you have a stealth drone.
