I've never worked with electronic speed controllers (ESCs), electric ducted fans (EDFs), or remote control (RC) equipment. This is how I learn. I buy parts, do enough research to be dangerous, and then learn by doing. In this case, I bought all of the parts, designed a 3D model that I could experiment with and got to playing.
3D printing is THE tool that enhances almost every endeavor.

Maybe two smaller batteries? I feel like a lot of that downward force is just pushing the battery down rather than allowing for lift.
