In the first 26 days of a major air campaign airborne tankers transferred 417,233,133 pounds of jet fuel into other aircraft. That amount of fuel would allow a Ford F-150 truck to make 2685 round trips to the moon, 7 round trips to the sun, or keep a 737 airliner airborne for 11 years and 10 months. One Gulf Coast country ran out of jet fuel because their refineries were not capable of producing the 1.8 million gallons of jet fuel one tanker base was using in a day. A super tanker ship ported and pumped JP5 straight to the base to keep it full. #aviation #avgeek #pilot #pilotlife #flight #flying #fly #sky #airport #airplane #aircraft #jet #video #photo #photography #videoviral #military

At 6.8 pounds per gallon, they used 63 million gallons of fuel. It's 580,000 miles round-trip to the moon at 17 mpg, that's approximately 6 round trips to the moon in a f150. Still, a lot of fuel used assuming your truck can run on jet fuel and travel through space.
