"companies make more money, which means more people have jobs" 😂😂

This is the Phillips curve theory which was disproven during the 75 stagflation. It theoretically works under certain economic conditions but you have to clarify that this isn’t always the case vox

Maybe billionaires should start paying taxes. And churches. And maybe real estate agents shouldn't earn money from vacant buildings.

What industries are paying wages that have kept with inflation? Because I’ve just recently started to get paid the same amount I was paid in 2012. Every job kept paying less & less. There’s no way my now job of the same amount of pay has kept with inflation

Never never will wage growth match inflation there's always a lag ergo people get shafted

"Wage growth " is awfully abstract though - for whom, and how much?

remove the stock market and maybe things might be able to be sustainable with no inflation

I learned the problem with our economy in my first college econ class. I can't remember the quote exactly but pretty much were all dead in the long term so the government only worries about the short term, so there's no one looking out for the future. This cycle isn't sustainable even if it goes according to plan.

This couldn't be less true. Companies are cheaping out on supplies and quality while getting rid of employees at record numbers for automation or closing departments

Wages haven't met inflation for like 40 years, what is that graph?

I get the theory, but in practice that isn't what happens. The entire point of a free market is for competition to create the best product for as cheap as possible

Wages have to keep up with inflation. If inflation is outpacing wages, it's because inflation is being artificially induced, such as when our government spends trillions of dollars on an assload of things that never rescirculate back to taxpayers.

I think they forgot to keep increasing pay again

The goal should not be to manipulate a currency to manipulate human behaviours... A virtuously stable currency means people can simply buy what they want and need because they want or need it. Also important to note that prices increase or decrease due to many economic factors and that currency inflation is a distinct occurrence.

Thats a lie. Looking at nursing jobs postings, some salaries are lower than what i was getting 15 years ago as starting pay

If wages rise proportionally to rising prices, then there is no inflation.

Yeah so you see that dip in mid 2023 is when we paid our taxes just like the dip in 2024 😂
