pro: better resistance to sun
contra: getting less vitamin d
if you got more melanin and you live in places with less sunlight, you may need vitamin d capsules

I am 61 years old with dark olive skin. My friend is only a year older, and has super pale skin. Iโ€™ve always worked indoors, and I make sure to wear sunscreen whenever Iโ€™m outside for long periods of time. My friend has literally fried her skin in the sun for decades with her landscaping business in the summer, and lots of skiing in the winter. She never wears sunscreen. I look 40. She honestly looks like sheโ€™s in her 80s. Sun damage is real, yโ€™all.

As a POC, I burn and then a tan develops. My body is 3 different colors due to sun exposure

What about radiation therapy for treating cancer. Does the higher melanin levels of tanned or darker skin block some of the radiation and make it less effective. Does pale/fair skin amplify the radiation?

So the rise in skin cancer as of late, is bc sunscreen use is up, but reapplication is down and confidence while sunscreen is up
Which leaves skin exposed
About right?

I have dsap because of sun exposure. No fun, and the Tx is burning them off. They always come back

Is this why people in hot countrys are black because they evolved more melanin to protect from the sun?

Do sunscreens lose effectiveness in whatever X-minutes on the directions even if I ended up staying indoor most of the times?

I love being tan but I always use Sunblock. The heat of the sun is far stronger nowadays.

Be proud of your skin colour. To lie in the sun is idiotic.
