The Imperium face off versus a superior defending Eldar force that is more than 2.5x the attackers. Unfortunately the Eldar committed a tactical blunder by grouping their stealthed forces. The vile xenos were quickly dispatched once their positions were revealed. the Imperium fleet was led by Ultramarine Primarch Roboute Guilliman aboard the Macragge's Honour along with supporting forces from the Adeptus Mechanicus.
This battle was completed during my first playthrough of the Imperium campaign on hard difficulty.

Overview:
The Obsidian Depths was a locked system controlled by the Eldar located in the Nemesis Tessera Sector. It was vital to obtain control of this system as it contained a powerful force field known as the Archeo Gellar Field. Once fully upgraded it prevents the entire sector from being invaded or assaulted. At evolution level 1 the system can not be targeted by any Invasion or Assault. At level 2 this effect is extended to connected systems and to the whole sector at level 3. Aeldaries and narrative invasions are not impacted by this effect.
