The reason is because she doesn’t actually wanna hurt anyone. This was said when they went to the underwater temple. She can control her magic fine when it’s defense but when she’s attacking she couldn’t hit anything because she was subconsciously trying to avoid hurting things.

nah bro, the real reason is she unconsciously trying to avoid hurting anybody, as you should know she is a noble, and nobles have stronger magic and mana pool than other common folk, where even an untrained noble could potentially harm a veteran mage, since noelle has been bullied for being seen as a failure of a noble ( due to her lack of control for her magic) she trained herself, even before she got into blackbulls, you can see at ep 46 that noelle, managed to unlock a stronger attack spell because she is no longer afraid of hurting her enemies, as a matter of fact shes more afraid of the villains who are trying to hurt her friend that's why she developed her own reason for fighting, with the black bulls she now has more of the reason to protect them. (This may seem to be more like an Essay but f*k it)

Lol this is completely wrong. The reason is told multiple times in the anime. One reason was due to not wanting to hurt the person subconsciously, another reason is the amount of magic power she has was too much to handle. And the last reason is similar to the first. She subconsciously would miss with out knowing it (Trauma from siblings and mother died)

It's because she has a very high level of mana, so it's hard to control. Also, like Kahono mentioned, Noelle doesn't want to hurt people, so she subconsciously diverts her attacks.

Wait what, she practiced so many times when she was younger and there were flashbacks to prove that. It was because she has such strong magical power and she needed a confidence boost. When she joined the black bulls everyone accepted her and she finally had the confidence she needed to overcome her siblings taunting.

No, this is wrong. Noelle couldn't control her magic because of how powerful it is, and she always practiced ever since she was young, she just couldn't figure out how to control it because of trauma and no one tried to help her. After that, asta and the others gave her advice on how to control it better, and vanessa even bought her a wand for more control.
