My dm does this in our curse of strahd campaign. There is one player who wants everyone to go room by room and have others check everything. We are like there is nothing here ket us keep moving. She then goes, i want to use divine sense. She is a true problem player, constantly thinking she is the main character and we are her lackies

Pacing is one of my weakest attributes as a dm. I have to constantly remind myself of this aspect so that I don't get bogged down. Especially since my players are slower than a pack drunk snails.
