Testing RPM of an 5x6 English Iron Works steam engine while under load.

is made by the Technical Oil Tool Corporation. 1057 N. La Brea Ave. Los Angeles 38 California. Model 944 0-1000RPM.

It's likely a WW2 vintage tool. I've seen nearly identical units in various training films from the war.

It runs for 6 seconds (1/10 minute). The small dial indicates 100s of revs while the large dial indicates 0-99 revs.

This tach mimics the manual style rev counter made by Starrett and others that requires the use of a watch.
