I just do the Apple fitness workouts at home everyday and that works for me. I used to do Insanity but the older I get the worse my back and knees feel. I just can’t go that nuts anymore. I have always SUCKED at pull ups even when I trained for them. Lol I feel strong/healthy though and that’s what matters!

I have POTS. Exercise is never easy and I'll look like I'm struggling a lot. I end up seeing it as a lot of work that'll make me tired, but knowing others who are able to find a way to enjoy exercising motivates me to keep going for all the good it does! I love getting your exercise journey updates!

Honestly Gab, I know exactly what you mean. I went from doing professional dance 6 days a week, plus working out, to quitting dance and choosing to workout on the daily. My goal was to build muscle, maintain the abs, and so forth; but I was mainly doing weight based workouts, because I was so use to mainly using my own body weight for resistance, from my years of dance training. But it was too much for me physically, and I burnt myself out rather quickly!
I now just prioritise being active, over excessive exercise. I’m just as happy going for a 5k walk to get my 10,000 steps in, and doing a quick 5-10 min full-body workout, or doing 10 minutes of Pilates a day, at home.

Switching to a simple full body routine I could do 5 times a week alongside cardio was one of my smartest choices I’ve made. Keeps me in shape and I actually feel good instead of constantly trying to rest whatever part of my body a wrecked that particular morning. Recovery just isn’t the same after 30, at least for me anyway

What people don't understand about pull-ups is that they are so hard because with other exercises or weight training, you can choose a lower weight or resistance in a machine. Even with assistance, in a pull up you are lifting your entire body weight with your arm and back muscles, something you do with your legs. You are going from lifting a few pounds in everyday activities to lifting 100/150/200+ pounds with a muscle group you've never used for that before. That's why the start is so hard and takes so long to get good at.

Ahh I miss the days when I was super fit. Not anymore 😭. I used to go to hot yoga nearly every day, I did the every day for one year challenge and I didn't accomplish it, but it was enough motivation to keep me going a lot! I had a trainer too for a while and learned a lot about lifting, I actually had a booty back then. Life happens, we fall off the wagon. I don't beat myself up over it. I know it just takes some determination and I can get it back! 💪 I can do it! ..Never did much pilates, but I've heard it's really challengin

Going from no pull ups to one pull up might have been the hardest part for me, but I also found that it's something I can work up to at my own pace, which I really appreciate. I invested in a cheap pull up bar, attached it to a doorframe, and just attempted a pull up for a few minutes at a time when I felt like it. Eventually I could do one! But now I want to see if I can do five 😅

Yeah me too. I’d much rather work out in order to be strong in general, be fit enough to not be winded by simple tasks, and to just enjoy it as I go, than to focus on a goal like being able to do something specific or make my body look a certain way. It’s really hard to do it regularly when you think like that and it’s like a chore to you, especially when you’re not seeing results as quick as you’d like.
