Yes, this shows why a chute won't work! Often a camera really foreshortens one's view.

I feel like I must be missing something obvious here, but if shoveling is the only sticking point, isn't that going to be a problem with the tractor, too? IE, if you could use a mini-digger to load the stones into a tractor, then you could use it to put them into a chute? And if you'd have to shovel the stones into a chute, won't you have to shovel them into a tractor?
However, if the problem is that the slope of the ground is too steep for your existing vehicles to tackle with more than a small load of cobbles, but too gentle for a chute to reliably carry them down the hill, then I understand! (And once again marvel at the ability you and Marc have when it comes to handling these things without screaming in frustration.)
