Most shops won't take the liability of plugging a tire anymore. They just want to sell you a new tire. Not saying it's right but most of the plugs I've installed have lasted the lifetime of the tire.

Sorry, once it’s plugged we won’t touch it. I have a car where I plugged the sidewall and it’s been fine for at least 2 years. Don’t need to use glue or anything like that. I hardly use the car, it’s extra. If it was my daily I would replace the tire.
