Another option was to play the natural position off the 6 shot to break the 2 out. But your option was also valid and good.

Just had a match tonight where I played 9 in a row to start the rack and the guy got mad but it was to open up the entire table that I ran out after I got ball in hand. Defense wins you matches in pool.

Not sure if the thirteen went to the rail because we could not see the table. If nothing hit a rail or was pocketed wouldn't that shot be a foul.
