If you’re struggling to break free from the grips of a cult, I know firsthand how difficult that can be. So today, I want to share three things that I wish I had known sooner during my own journey to freedom.

First off, I wish I knew that not all cults are strictly religious. There are many different types of cults that can manipulate and control individuals in various ways. It’s important to educate ourselves on the warning signs and red flags to prevent falling into here traps.

Secondly, I wish I knew that I wasn’t an idiot for getting involved with a cult. These groups are designed to prey on vulnerable individuals and can be incredibly persuasive in their recruitment tactics. It’s important to give ourselves grace and compassion as we heal and recover from our experiences.

Finally, I wish I had known that I could find meaning and purpose outside of a cult. Cults often try to convince us that they are the only source of true happiness and fulfillment, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. There are countless ways to live a fulfilling life and make a positive impact in the world.

If you’re a fellow cult survivor, please share in the comments what you wish you knew sooner. Let’s support each other on this journey towards healing and freedom! 💛
