The appropriation he wields of a contemporary, complex and decades-long conflict to talk about squirrels is shocking and callous. And I’m saying this as someone who’s been feeding grey squirrels from my garden for years. What does he think his constituents elected him for? If you’re going to equate grey squirrels with some faction of the Palestine-Isreal conflict, then I think it would be more accurate to equate them with Israelis coming along and kicking out the indigenous population from their homes and leaving them living in little pockets of the country. 🤔 Although, it would probably best not to compare squirrels to the Palestine-Isreal conflict at all. 🙄
