The latency of an analog synthesizer will always be far less than any kind of digital midi controller because by its nature, the electrical signals pass through the wires at near light speed. The roli seaboard is a digital midi controller, so everything you do has to process theough a CPU. Latency is not the problem that the seaboard solves.

I somewhat agree but not because of the disconnect you mention. I more agree because of your points about articulation. The piano is a very versatile instrument. It lets you play soft or loud notes, short or long. It lets you play multiple notes at the same time. This allows for it to be able to play the widest range of music. But a piano is also rigid. As you said, you can't pitch bend to add your own flair... except you sorta can! Some very expensive keyboards have the ability to pitch bend among other things with a little joystick. I think Roland makes them. Too bad it isn't remotely in my budget hahaha

I get what you’re saying, there’s almost no way to change the qualities of note over time after you strike it on the piano. But I don’t know if it’s a problem either. The way a piano works has shaped the music written for it, and who knows what music we’d lose or gain throughout history if pianos worked differently.
