Anakin was a weapon under the Jedi order but he never bent the knee. Vader was controlled under the empire and sith but never bent the knee. But When Anakin/Vader visits Padme’s grave he kneeled down to the only person who set him free

Anakin Skywalker’s story has got to be one of the most tragic stories in any movie franchise. He was born a slave, with him and his mother working hard to survive. He had to leave his mother, the only person he loved and trusted at the time, behind to train to become a Jedi. He then lost his mother to a group whom he despised and hated on his home planet. He may have fallen in love, got married and was going to be a dad, but all of that was taken from him from the things he was told to do out of fear of losing Padme. He also lost a beloved friend, Obi Wan, in the process. Anakin then lived the rest of his life in pain and agony wearing a suit that helped his serious burns and injuries, standing beside the man who was behind all of his pain and suffering (Sidious). Truly heartbreaking.

He kill the separatist because they tried to take his love. He executed the Jedi because they wouldn't protect his love and they won't allow them to love. He killed the rebels because he was a broken man and wanted his family back. He killed the emperor because he loved his son. Anakin killed Vader because love brought him back
