The nice thing about most modelers is that nothing is stopping you from running them through a power amp and cab. So you can kinda get the best of both worlds.

it’s more of a skill issue to me sims have great tones just don’t sound authentic all the time… they r great for getting ideas recorded fast too but sometimes you just want to feel the scream of a tube through a mic and it’s hard to mess that up. sims are great they just can’t completely replace gear all the time. also the line 6 pods r good tbh they even show up some big recordings. in the right hands u make anything sound good

⚡️ yes sir ... reminds me of that old saying: "a good tradesman doesn't blame his tools" ☝️ and ... "the times, they are a changing" 😬 i think too much onus is put on gear , 👉because gear companies want sales .. i think touring with a tube amp may be prone to problems and would require a backup amp in case a tube rattles loose in the back of the van on a bumpy road.. the simplest rig setup and least links in the chain would be idea
