My biggest gripe with this remake and the only reason why I won't be watching it is the casting choice for Astrid and for a few of the other members of the supporting cast, instead of casting people that look like or at the very least resemble their animated counterparts from the animated films/TV series, they went with people who look completely different and that doesn't sit right with me.
I know that my reason for not watching it might sound incredibly petty on the surface, but casting people who don't look like their animated counterparts breaks the illusion for me, and objectively speaking it's an insult to the incredible characters who I grew up with throughout the films and TV series.
With that said, despite my massive subjective gripe with the film, I actually think it will objectively be a solid adaptation as they brought back the original HTTYD trilogy director Dean DeBlois and from what I saw from that teaser photo and the leaked photo of Toothless the film will visually look incredible.
So whilst I won't be seeing the film, if it ends up being a solid live action adaptation of one of the greatest animated films ever made, then that's great and I hope people enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed watching the original film that spawned one of the greatest film trilogies of all time and an incredible animated TV series.

Im on the fence about a live action httyd. But i know for sure that they need to change the actor who is going to play Astrid to someone who actually looks like Astrid

I think I like race to the edge more than the movies, it fits perfectly between the first two movies!
The only problem I have with the second movie, is that it actively undoes character development from the show.

I hate the idea of live-action, remakes of animated movies. Not that none of them work, but many of these movies are already in their ideal medium. Some people just have the opinion that live action is a superior medium which is not true . Different mediums are better for different things.
And honestly, the studios are probably just trying to make extra money without coming up with new concepts which seems lazy.

I wish they would make a young adult hiccup, continuing the trilogy. Elliott west would be the best choice for that.

I researched these "leaked images" of Toothless, and they've been removed everywhere. I hope ya'll are right; it wouldn't make sense to remove fake ones, so hopefully this means they're real. We'll see soon enough.
