群馬の上毛かるたでも詠まれています。
高崎観音は高野山真言宗慈眼院の境内にあります。
1936年（昭和11年）、実業家の井上保三郎が建立した鉄筋コンクリート製の観音像です。
高さ41.8メートル、重さは5,985トン。
以前は観音様が嫉妬して、別れさせるという噂がありました。
高崎白衣大観音にカップルで行くと、観音様がやきもちを焼いて別れてしまうというジンクスです。
