Then you find out you need to go down this one way on a completely different part of the map, pass by a swamp, through a cave, through another swamp, and past a couple of giant golems shooting arrows at you before swinging you around to a highly specific area where this is the only way to reach it.

This is what happends when players complain about dungeons being generic and boring. I was very happy once I finally mastered Messmer and his moveset/attacks, and I was even happier when I finally defeated him. But compared to the time and brainpower I spent on this map fragmentā¦ Messmer was a walk in the park. I still remember the feeling I got when I was riding Torrent through the Moors ruins and then suddenly noticed a little tunnel as I looked in Torrentās rear view mirror. The worst part is that I had noticed like 5 hours ish before I even knew about the map fragment, that there was a very big black area on the cliff and wondering if that was like a massive area in the mountain, unfortunately my brain figured it was a end game area or something so I just ignored it. If only I had spotted the tiny cave North from Moors ruinsā¦ I probably would have stumpled on the fragment before even noticing it on the map and saved plenty of hours searching for it. Hats off to the players that didnāt stumble on it by accident and those that didnāt look it up.
Edit: If I could go back in time I would look it up.

The most infuriating part of the dlc.
