In 1938, a team led by Professor Chi Pu Tei uncovered graves of an unknown race in the Baian Kara-Ula Mountains. The fragile skeletons had large skulls, initially mistaken for monkeys, and were buried in graves, which intrigued the archaeologists. They discovered numerous drawings of celestial bodies on cave walls and found 716 stone disks with central holes and spiral lines, resembling modern records. These disks dated back 10,000 to 12,000 years.
