Motor room view of a group of four passenger lifts in a large building.

The Lifts were built in the early 1960s by Schindler and still have the original machines. The machines are DC drive and they run on Schindler's Transitronic system, which uses the Ward-Leonhard principle with DC generators. The constant generator noise can be heard in the background. The lifts were modernised with Miconic V controllers in 1991, resulting in electronic speed control while still using the original Gensets.

We have loads of older DC Geared lifts in the US. Rare for AC Geared before 90's for anything other than single speed.
