I like Alex, he's actually intellectually honest and unbiased as far as I've seen. He seems to actually respect everyone and be in search of actual truth.

That was actually a valid question. I hope Dawkins gave an actual answer instead of just scoffing at his theology degree.

As an atheĂŻst I'm rather dissapointed by Dawkins reactions. Not only here but alot of times. He doesn't seem to know humility.

I think Dawkins really has a distaste for philosophy and theology in general. He completely disregards metaphysical aspects of life. I love that Alex actually took the time to study theology to help bridge the gap from sceptisism and theism. To try and understand both sides and find some common ground.

I suspect someone who believes that babies haven't committed any immoral act haven't worked in childcare

Christian here but fan of Alex’s nonetheless (certainly keeps me on my toes). What I liked about this interview is how he didn’t just fawn over Dawkins but instead went down the route of challenging him on a number of topics. I much prefer it when two people who share the same view can still challenge one another. Great interview!

As a Christian, I really appreciate Alex’s response here. He kindly retorted against Dawkins strawman by posing a reasonable question, and Dawkins resorted to his usual holier-than-thou close-minded snobbery. Dawkins is as committed to a worldview (if not more-so) than the theists he condescends toward.

Alex is trying so hard not to offend him with basic philosophical knowledge

Alex is the only true skeptic I have seen on social media. This is a perfect example of his willingness to to explore, and does expose others desire to only be right…

I wrestle with this debate a lot, babies are taught things and what they're taught is sinful. I think it boils down to who was the first bad guy and why is that still taught

Born in sin.. Irrational guilt

I don't think newborn babies are born with a predisposition to do things we would consider immoral...that doesn't make sense...what do they do that fall short of moral standards?

It is true that with humility comes wisdom. Dawkins has no humility and his only "argument" is mockery.
Thank you Alex for being such an amazing skeptic and not getting stuck in the unreasonable mockery that the inmense majority of atheists show. Your humility shows a good will to learn instead of settling for vanity and presumptuousness. I love you so much.

I agree with Dawkins. The idea of the guilt sacrifice, the sacrifice of the innocent man for the sins of the guilty is certainly a hideous idea. Just because children are born with a propensity towards immaturity doesn't mean that they only way they can grow up is to accept that someone they've never met died for their mistakes, which is actually the opposite of taking responsibility

Richard Dawkins quote “I’m sorry…I don’t have any clue what I’m talking about…it’s not a real subject is it?” End quote…

He who thinks of himself wise is a fool and he who thinks of himself a fool is wise.

Gregory of Nyssa explained this well. Children are born with the emotions that later in life they will have to wrestle with. Children eat till they pass out and scream when hungry. Theres no moral judgement on them for that.. Thats not what sin means.
