I would like to preface this by saying I am an avid Florence and the machine fan. Still very much hooked on their recent album. But I do feel I would be letting things pass by not saying this.
My boy builds coffins should not be here. Simply because it uses an ethnic slur against Romani people.
I won't say which word, that can be found with research as well as why.
I don’t think the band would do this on purpose as they are kind hearted people and it was made back in 2009, I genuinely believe they did this unaware of it being problematic.
but i think with people being more aware of issues involving race it's a song that should change that lyric or not include it at all.
Again, love the anthology, but this is something I would be really upset with myself if I didn't bring awareness too it.
