I completely agree with you on most of this. But I do encourage you to look into labor and delivery more. I was just like you with my first baby. I found out AFTER I had her that the doctor on call was more interested in NOT being there. He had the nurses convince me that it was extremely important to induce (it wasn't) and after I was released I found out that they had upped my pitocin up extremely high. I was in so much pain that I was tensing up. Thus I was extremely slow dilating. I could say a thousand things about birth and delivery but i won't bore you. What i will say is that after 4 babies (2 hospital births and 2 unassisted births) i learned so much. And i can tell you without a doubt that the vast majority of women are lied to by their nurses and doctors about the risks of certain rules and procedures. And that 8-9 times out of 10 the rules/procedures caused issues during birth and those ladies that tell you that they are lucky to be alive and that their doctor saved their life. Most don't realize that their difficulties were caused by the doctors or nurses themselves.
I actually had two wonderful doctors with my first two. But the doctor that attended my first birth was actually the on call doctor who almost caused my delivery to turn into an emergency.

I always just wanted people to ask. I had people just walk up and start touching my belly and that was creepy to me. If they asked I didn't care and would say "of course! He is/isn't active right now but go ahead!"
My birth plan was prep to keep baby or have adoption options available. I was 17. Moment I held him for the first time, I knew I was going to adopt him to my half sister who was struggling with Fertility issues. Yes, we are in contact, I am his tummy mommy/auntie, he know exactly who I am.

I was the same way with touching my belly but I appreciated that people asked. I agree with the whole you canât plan everything and go with the flow of birth but I think some typed up info about you and your preferences is a smart choice. Your birth plan is your voice when you donât have one. I knew I wanted to labor a certain way and all that went out the window when I was admitted and had high blood pressure- ok no problem, do what you need to do doctors. But when I lost consciousness it was my husband and the hospitals way of knowing what I wanted for myself and baby â¤

I would suggest not having everybody and their mama visiting after birth. Your mom and MIL/FIL, sure. But aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, etc. do yourself and your baby a favor and wait. Also, do not let anyone kiss your newborn. You can Google why if you're curious. But whatever you choose to do I'm wishing you an easy delivery and a healthy, happy baby. đ

So refreshing! That's exactly how I felt in all 3 of my pregnancies â¤
