I agree, I also honor the Bible that way and don't consider it legalistic just honoring all the bloodshed involved in its production, chiefly Christ's, then His Martyrs.

I've always done the same with the Bible, no floor, and nothing laid on top. Just my own reverence and respect for the Word of God.
It was what a Muslim said that caught my attention one day. He had been to an event where Christians were sitting on the floor with their Bibles next to them.
He was appalled and asked them "Why do you defile your Holy Book by putting it on the dirty floor where people walk ?"
I don't know what his understanding of it was, but he expressed a level of respect for "our Holy Book" that we need to seriously consider.
Men and women were burned at the stake, and were "exterminated" in horrific ways for this Holy Book because it IS God's Word to us and more valuable than gold. It's not legalization for me either but respect, reverence, and thankfulness.
