What kinds of range are you saying the deer is winding you at? It’s almost sounding like you have to on average take like a 50yard shot or more? Are you hunting private or public?

I pay close attention to the wind. But i can honestly say that I've somehow managed to kill a quarter of my deer down wind of me. Bucks included.

How in the world before he has the ability to catch your wind direction already in his face when it's been studies for this specific question that they are able to scent check over a quarter mile. How is this even possible this makes no sense

Please if you are new to hunting don’t listen to the guy this information is completely false and honestly a little infuriating! People I am no expert by any means I have had a chance to take some very nice deer especially from the area I live in. Just watch your thermals and your wind direction let the come to you in a way that he feels safe but you have a creek pulling your scent or a ditch or maybe your thermals are pulling your scent above or below his nose. Please don’t go hunt your target deer and give him all the advantages to wind you because that’s just complete hog wash!!!

I dont get it, every big buck ive hunted i have to let many deer pass before he shows up .... just before dark... so in my experience if a solitary doe busts me its all over but the crying....
