One of the things people fail to realize is that there isn’t really any such thing as a “Palestine” anymore. There’s absolutely a Palestinian identity, but it’s claimed by effectively two different peoples at this point (three if you count Israelis who use the term to refer to themselves). Gaza cannot really be considered Palestine anymore. Ever since Hamas has managed to take over, Gaza has become its own thing. They have literally raised a generation of the entire country on abhorrent propaganda that vilifies Israelis, or often simply Jews in general. Unlike the West Bank, where you will find people with varying opinions ranging from wanting the elimination of Israel to wanting to be an Israeli citizen, Hamas is rapidly turning Gaza into a literal nation of terrorists. It is incredibly sad. Imagine how differently many of these young terrorists would have turned out if Gaza had gone a different direction when Israel had withdrawn in 2005.
