Chickens stop laying when they go into molt. Even the best layers only lay around 300 eggs a year

We never had problems with tractor supply feed .....we have 8 hens we get 7 to 8 eggs a day

Tractor Supply denied issues with the feed. Wouldnt refund us even though our feed was purchased within 30 days. We are done with Tractor Supply and purina for life. We now make our own feed. Corn will clean these ladies out so they get back to normal.

Jenna go into moult in the fall which causes a drop in eggs. AND, the amount of light each day determines how much they lay. Many hens don't lay at all in the winter.
The light is getting longer now and they start laying.
I have many greens and owned a poultry farm. I buy feed from tractor supply and my hands are doing wonderfully.
You don't want to feed higher protein when it gets warm. It makes them fat and that makes it harder for them to deal with hot temperatures.

I used to use dumor and never had a problem. Also gave them some table scraps. We would get eggs every day

It is by design. They don’t want people self sustainable.

I mix whole grain Oats, whole corn, scratch grains, egg layer crumbles and Black oil sunflower seeds! I haven’t had a problem with eggs! 11 hens and anywhere from 6 to 10 eggs a day. The other day we had 12 eggs! 😮

My girls were fine. They are 5 1/2. Some stopped laying last summer because of age. They always stop laying in fall for their moult and start back in Feb-March. I have some of my 5 1/2 year old laying me 5 eggs a week. Nothing out of the ordinary here

Happened to me also. No eggs for several months. I'm aware that hens don't lay as much during the winter months or during a molt. This was a nationwide event, and it had to be the feed. I have no doubt about that.

We mix cat food with our tractor supply feed during the colder months. 30 hens 2 rooster and never dropped egg count. We get at least 2 dozen eggs a day.

Same thing here in Canada. (Different names of feed and suppliers)
I noticed the colour and smell of the feed being different.
My 10 month old hens weren’t laying much, and the older hens were moulting very hard.
I found a different brand that looks and smells like what I used to buy.
Eggs started coming again.

I feed it to mine. 5 to 6 eggs a day out of 6 chickens. Sorry you are having issues. Maybe they were off thier lay due to Winter.

We give them kidney beans cooked in fresh basil or oregano. Oregano is a natural antibiotic and they love it. We dont give them a whole lot but it flavors the beans. We also give them cabbage whenever it is on sale and bok choy has protein and calcium...we grow greens for our hens and have a maggot farm.

Samw as our egg friends. Chickens stopped laying last Sept and we told them about the bad purina feeds. They switched feed and immediately went back to lots of eggs.
