As a french I can totally relate to Americans we have this love hate relationship with our country we are the first to trash it with our own mouth but if someone else is talking trash about France we won't allow it ๐Ÿ˜‚

See, some Americans can hear foreigner diss the US and be offended. But theres also a lot of people who would agree and double down on how bad it is. Theres a lot of variety of thought in the US because its also presumed that we all experience America differently.

I was born in Korea, adopted to the US, Iโ€™m not a big fan of either country. Hate is a strong word, I just donโ€™t feel accepted or fit in either, so decided to live in the Philippines where my nationality, ethnicity, bloodline is not an issue.

I think a lot of people feel like all Americans are overly patriotic and blindly proclaim ourselves to be the best at everything or that everyone else is below us. In reality, we've got tons of issues here just like any other place.

In Spain is the same, we hate our country and talk badly about it all the time but the moment a foreigner says something bad (specially french) we become patriots ๐Ÿ˜‚

U have to able to see so many shortcomings in the U.S.. Just because you have a good life , does not mean you have to close your eyes and ears to the plight of others in the U.S. That is what every good person should do.

As a Nigerian, we do that too๐Ÿ’€almost all Nigerians talk shit about Nigeria but let a non-Nigerian join the conversation

I think Americans are super confident about our county and so can admit we have shortfalls. I believe Korean people in general are kinda insecure and want others to believe they are perfect and don't like to admit their shortcomings, especially in front of non-koreans.

As a Japanese, I can somewhat relate to Americans, younger generations are more likely so. But there are a certain number of people who force their patriotism, suppress oppositions, and call opponents "spies". My patriotism is getting weaken thanks for them.

We are the same. We say it openly but hate it when outsider says it..

I think most people love their respective countries, they just don't agree with what governments do. Also it's OK if you don't agree with everything your culture mandates, doing something just because someone else did it before you is just stupid, follow cultural trends if they are of benefit for you, use your own judgment. Love to Korea and all other countries ๐Ÿ’–

That comparison of a country to a family is wild to me b/c I feel quite the opposite lol. You'll NEVER catch me being patriotic or going out of my way to defend any nation. Everyone of them is equally awful ๐Ÿ’€

Itโ€™s really funny how they act kinda similarly to their northern neighbors where you cannot speak bad of the government and the supreme leaderโ€ฆ

This is kind of like when you are with your best friends and you all talk about other people who everyone else thinks is perfect... Your friends just get it because they understand how you feel but others don't. All countries are like that.
