"what if we fuck up, better to not do it in the first place" If where were always thinking this way we would be still running around naked being chased by lions.....

Humans and ethical oversight is an oxymoron. I'm looking for my private island to put my gene edited dinos on. What could go wrong...

Leaving a comment not just for the algorithm, but mostly for the gigachad that is Roanoke. I'm learning so much about biology through your videos, and I can't help but quote some of your notable lines, such as "spooky!" and, of course, everything involving the hideous anglerfish, for daily use.

The problem with gene editing is that it can AND SHOULD be heavily restricted, but you will immediately have rich people bypassing those restrictions for designer babies

We're not gonna go overboard with gene editing... 7ft Amazonian Catgirl Appears In our defense....

I feel like it would be interesting to look at genetic tissue from a few hundred years ago and compare the natural edits that have happened since

The problem with gene editing is not the technology but the one who is going to use it. That is how much faith I have in humanity.

I think the issue is the inevitable way companies will sell it because they just lack oversight. It's an amazing tool but so were insulin treatments and now those are overpriced for people who desperately need them to live. I don't trust the people who are in charge not to abuse this in the same way

As someone with psoriasis I am all for gene editing that out of my gene pool

Just as long as it doesn’t turn into Gattaca.

Is anybody else shocked by RG’s appearance? I always imagined him as a skinny, clean shaven guy who wears polo shirts to Denny’s. Dude’s actually looking like a chonkster, but in a good way.

Someone will always find a nefarious use for things. It's part of the human experience

I know its mainly a cartoonish game, but I've always wondered about the science behind the Medics medi gun. Like, most of it is just video game logic, considering the concoction it spits literally has drug enhanced urine as a main ingredient, but there's still a basic science behind it. I'd for one would definitely be curious as to the potential science behind a gun that stimulates stem cells.

Hey Roanoke, love the vids bro, question : What if humans had a digitigrade leg structure? Would we be even more efficient predators or would it hinder us?

Gene editing is good

I feel it’s telling I’ve never actually seen anyone with potentially curable genetic diseases talk down about the idea… The good of the technology far outweighs realistic risks.

Wasn't the whole movie Gatica based around gene editing?

Have you thought of viewing the "Skyline" aliens? Got stuff to do with mind control, immunity, evolution and all this other stuff
