Who says Plant based women can't build muscle 💪 in their 40's?
Muscle building is a slow process and takes time. You must be in it for long haul. You must have a proper training program in place (instead of doing random workouts), prioritize proper sleep/recovery and high protein diet to support those goals.
✨Before version: was me following a starch solution diet, lifting weights and relying on carbs, lentils and beans as my primary protein source. This way of eating left me feeling bloated most of the time with barely any strength gains or muscle gains. This version of me was also focused on chasing skinny and lowest weight possible on the scale.
✨After version: is me prioritizing protein at every meal. Lifting with intensity and taking creatine supplement. Still focusing on proper sleep and recovery. This current version of me doesn't care what the weight on the scale says. This version of me is chasing strong and a healthy body as I get older.
These videos are 2 years apart. Genetically I wasn't blessed to have muscular body. I had to work really hard to get to where I am today. I compare my results to me. It's me vs. my day 1 NOT anyone else!
A healthy body to me isn't "small, fragile and being skinny version of myself". A healthy body to me is strong. Muscle is the organ of longevity. We all lose muscle mass every decade after the age of 30. Building muscle is like "building yourself an investment fund." You can live off of those investments as you get older. Having more muscle means we will have better bone density, quality of life and more independence as we get older.
🔥As a fitness trainer, I always encourage every women to chase strong and not skinny. So if that's your goal, I would say keep at it. You're on the right track. Stay focused, stay in your lane and enjoy the process. Fitness and Health is for life.
🔥Having muscular body will never disappoint as we all get older. Think 10-15 years from now! Wouldn’t you want to be more independent as you get older and not be fragile!?
