Half the time you have to walk back to the hook anyway or else it snags on something while you're feeling it in.

I have this!! Finally a tools on here that I own. It’s a nice smooth reeling line with a great sized string. I use micro chalk, and it marks well and holds alot of chalk. The self release hook works as intended , just don’t pull to hard or it comes at you like a rocket. lol

Solution looking for a problem. Look how he hooked it to his belt and not his pocket. I have never seen someone hook a tape or a chalk line to their belt.
