Dec 6, 1976, at Madison Square Garden "What happened was that Tony Iommi had some trouble with his guitar and decided to change his strings at the last minute. The audience had already been sitting there waiting for an hour or so since Ted Nugent, and they wanted me to go out there and make an announcement and calm them down. So I did. And I introduced them and then sat by the side of the stage over by Ozzy's orange juice." ~ Frank Zappa

I love it, just like me Frank Zappa loved Black Sabbath and Grand Funk. He said in several interviews that these 2 groups generated a massive attraction among young audiences that was very interesting to him. Proletarian Heavy Rock straight to your head with no excuses. From the suburbs of Birminham England and Flint Michigan to the world with a lot of boogie and a lot of groove and charisma

Had Zappa played with them as intended...my mind would have exploded.

Oh, they broke something. All right, but it was not a guitar string.

Really that was only a fifteen-minute delay. Ozzy will probably take longer than that nowadays on the walk from the dressing room up two flights of steps navigating past 23 jokes about biting the head off a live bat. Or Dove.

I seriously doubt Frank Zappa EVER raised the ā€œdevil hornsā€.
