“Never Too Much” was released in 1981 on the Never Too Much album by Luther Vandross. Written and produced by Vandross, the lyrics detail a love that he cannot get over or forget, as well as the deep emotions felt for that person.

Roberta Flack, for whom Vandross has been a backing singer in the 70’s, was presented with the song but encouraged Vandross to branch out and record a demo of his own instead. “Never Too Much” would go on to peak at number 33 on the Billboard chart.
