I had a 19 day panic attack in 2015 when I went cold turkey on klonapin. Heart attack 4/7 panic attack started 7/19. I've only had 4 days with most of day panic free. Panic attacks are pure hell. Thank you for caring❤❤❤ i believe my brain just got the msg.

OMG such good advice about the Plan A, Plan B rumination. I literally do this all day long. I need to change this thought process but it’s so difficult

I have anxiety, ADHD, dyslexia, PTSD and never really dealt with the anxiety. Nine months ago I suffered my first panic attack. I truly believed I was having a heart attack. That was a horrible experience. Since, I have sought psyc counseling and Testosterone Replacement Therapy. I NOW feel better than I ever did. No more meds, just TRT.

I was having it super bad for last year, what helps me is keeping track of time, I tell myself ok it’s 11:00 if I still have anxiety by 12:00 then I will panic. Almost every time it fades away before the hour is up.
It sucks but live day by day and it will all work out

That is in itself just a what if thought? It’s just anxiety. It’s a trap. Don’t buy into it. It takes a bit of time but everyone with anxiety can get there.

People also need to understand, that if you are prone to anxiety, you will be prone to it even after you will heal. So learning to deal with intrusive thoughts and overthinking are the main solutions, because those 2 are the main issues, that fuel anxiety symptoms and without them, the anxiety engine will starve, ending up running in 'safe mode', as it should.

Healing does not mean you will never get anxious again - it's a natural body reaction to danger and you don't wanna lose that.

Also a note to fellow autistic individuals, that deal with anxiety and overthinking: In our case, overthinking was our solution to cope with the unpredictable world. However, it's a bad coping mechanism, because when you spend half a day trying to figure every possible scenario, you get no energy left when you get into the situation you tried to plan for... and screw it all up in a colossal way. You may be jealous of neurotypicals and their ability to improvise, but being able to improvise is a skill ANYONE can learn. You will maybe stutter a lot, you will be slower in figuring things out - but if you don't give up, your brain will adapt and learn. Overthinkers are not born, but made - and can be un-made.
