Three great actors, Cassavetes, Falk & Gazzara. I remembered when they were in NYC . They were staying at The Park Sheraton Hotel. At the time my husband worked there, hotel security. Well he met them and they were great. My husband said you can tell that they were very close friends.

The slate at the start of the video indicates that that was the date of taping, and that the episode didn't actually air until a few days later, Monday September 21 (which, as Cavett notes at the beginning, affected the show's available air time due to Monday Night Football, then starting its premiere season on ABC).

years later on Bob Costas show "later" Gazzara spoke of the marathon drinking sessions with the 3 & a 4th but not as often Martin Landau. Gazzara said the work they did was good but there should have been more if the nights hadn`t lasted so long.
