A lifetime of training has enabled me to do this. I also do the two finger punch. My daughter used to bring her friends to show them me stabbing concrete with my fingers and the remakes they said (but his fingers didn't bend' used to amuse me. I'm glad the technique is still alive and well.

haven't practiced in a while, but when done correctly, you feel very little force recoiled into your hand because the idea is to release/displace that force through the target. when your weapon "dies on the target"/ relaxes through it, it's like cutting-off the connection for any force to travel back up your arm
