Our basset broke into the neighbor’s pool. Thank goodness the neighbors saw him. Our vet told us that Bassets have the senses bone and almost 70% is in their rib cage. So their head would go under water and their tail end would float. He never tried to go swimming again.

My basset Rufus will soon be 3 years of age. Amazing times with my buddy ever since I drove 300 plus miles to bring him to his forever home. Can’t imagine life without him now.. especially on those difficult days. Always puts a smile on my face no matter what’s going on!

I was the proud owner of a BH, almost made it 14 years, love my Butters. He also did not like water as I don't think they like it at all due to the short legs. Rest of video would have been him coming right back to the ladder/platform to come back. That's what Butters did the first time we brought him in the pool.

I took my basset hound to a lake one time, and he jumped into the water. He immediately started to sink and my dad had to save him😂
