I had the great pleasure of gaining experience in environment worldbuilding while working on Anthem. As an environment concept artist on the project I wanted to explore ways for myself and the 3d environment artists to collaborate in more efficient ways. I developed a pipeline around creating in-engine blockouts of environments skipping the step of concept polish passes. I was responsible for all asset / decal placement and placement of vfx in the location. Since this scene was for a vista and did not have any level design requirements, I had a lot of freedom with constructing the composition. In most cases these blockouts would be passed off to one of our incredibly talented environment artists for an additional polish and performance pass. In this scenario I worked off a great base provided to me from our Environment Director Neil Valeriano.
