A relaxed, tight, stance enables all muscles in the feet and legs to be available for hip rotation. By having his legs so far away from his shoulder width, AJ Barner was activating his groin to keep himself right instead of using muscles from the pinky toe, knee, and hip that help with balance and acceleration.

When he starts moving he can only use his groin at the snap, he can kick either direction, but if he was tighter, Barner would have greater acceleration and power entering his route.

Something he later tidies up but can be a bad habit if you have tight hips.
