Maybe each side can be used for moving traffic each way and the spaces in between the trees can be used for those texting, stopping, etc? It’s annoying to have someone stop when the rest of the crowd is moving. It’s actually not that uncommon to have trees on the sidewalk. Not sure why the city wants to add roots to the mess of wires, cables, etc that are under the sidewalk already?!? They’ll probably waste $ on pulling them in 10-15 years. Smh.
