Do not use the aftermarket metal rotary knobs. They have a reputation of putting too much stress on the rotary encoder causing them to wear out and break.
I put one on mine when new, because I liked it better, and my switch failed in less than a year. They are not very easy to replace.

I’m new to ham radio and see the value of the digital modes. How accurate does the clock need to be?
Can you get the accuracy needed with WWV?
I’m guessing the GPS sats will be some of the first to be taken out if something bad happens

WWV for time syncing the laptop.👍 This is the standard for my unit. We use it to confirm time for ALE operations and as an audible reference for propagation in real time. WWVH for westcoast "long haul" comms and Fort Collins gives a good analog for trying local contact frequencies/NVIS propagation. Nice job
