Being a Kohli fan, I must say this : As a batsman in limited overs cricket, Virat Kohli is the GOAT. As a batsman in test, Sachin is the GOAT. As a player Sachin is the GOAT as he also used to bowl and he has 154 odi wickets (which is the 15th highest for an Indian player🤯) which is mind blowing because we don't even talk about Sachin's bowling! Sachin also has 46 wickets in test cricket which is quite impressive as well

People won't understand this but the cricket back then was very different then it is now a days, Sachin was the only player who didn't fix matches also BCCI barely had any money at that time to give best gears and practice sets for it's batsmen which is very different from what we see today.

Without taking any credit away from Virat Kohli's records and achievements, it has to be understood that the contribution of Sachin Tendulkar was much more than just batting records. He was one person in an Era when the entire country was hopeless, made us believe, through his batting provess that we can stand up to the best. He is one person who made cricket attractive to the younger generation. I think his contribution in that is much greater than Virat Kohli's. So if you ask who is the greatest, it has to be Sachin. Just like Federer in Tennis despite Djoko and Nadal, Sachin will remain the greatest for the sheer fact that he made an elitist game so popular that the likes of Sehwag Dhoni and Virat became enamoured with it just like the entire country. He fired the imagination of an entire nation from the depths of desire to a new horizon of hope. Records are meant to be broken and I wish Kohli will not just complete 50 but break Sachin’s record of a century of centuries in both formats of the game.
