The word “know” is translated from Greek as “eidō” which also means “to behold” and “can (+ not tell)” so Jesus was not saying he’s not aware of the day but he’s saying “no one can tell/behold” only the father. This word was used this way at least 6 other times in the Bible including 2 other times in Matthew 21:27 & 11:33

What everyone forgets is Hebrew customs for weddings, Jesus did know he explains why he spoke in that manner in in book of ACTS "it is not for them to know the secrets of heaven" the Jews of that day understood Jesus because, when a groom sets a date for the wedding and people keep asking when is the wedding, they reply "i don't know ask my father" because it is custom that the father was the only one allowed to announce the wedding day, the groom obviously knows. Study body of Christ, you must be wise.

Because God the father is almighty and humbly came to earth as man to live amongst us, laugh, cry , do wonderful miracles of healing, teaching of his unconditional love for us . And to show our gratitude, he was tortured and murdered for it. I don’t t know why he would even bother with us at this point but his son paid the price and we should be grateful for it. Because now he can say he knows how we feel and what we go through here on earth as he walked amongst us.
