This amazing Sree Rama temple in Kerala is more than 2,000 years old! The whole Temple Complex is spread over 10 acres. two hunters named Neela and Swetha Placed the Shree Rama Murthi of this temple. They were cursed by a saint, Agasthya Muni, and then they performed penance here and their penance transformed the place into a sacred forest, which later became the current name of this place, Thiruvangad means โsacred forest. Just in front of the temple there is a Hanuman Murti, always looking towards his most beloved Shree Rama Murti. Because this templeโs roof is made of brass sheets, the British called This temple the Brass Pagoda. In the 18th century, Tipu Sultan partially attempted to destroy this temple, but he failed to distroy it completely. Just in front of the temple, there is a huge pond that spans over 3 acres. Inside the temple complex, you can find two interesting God Shiva temples as well โ Kizhakkedam and Vadakkedam. This temple is in my home town, even i started to visit here only few years ago.sadly only very few devotees visit this temple but that gives a peaceful atmosphere here. U can really feel the calmness and spirituality even before entering the temple.
