My dfplayer's led is always off and there's no sound. However, when I switch to the first song, the led turns on for about one second and then turns off again. Why is this happening?

My mp3 player is Mp3-tf-16p, it only works when connected directly to the io pins and Adkeys but then i interface it serially to the arduino it doesn't work. I've tried multiple tutorials but nothing works, could i have fried the serial part of the player because at first i didn't use Voltage divider ??

My mp3 player if MP3 TF 16p and when I tried to play directly an audio from sd card then it was not playing from the connected speaker but the speaker produces an chirping sound while not playing can you give me a solution
